“Halloween Night Haunted Historic Dinner” DeSoto House Hotel

Chicago,Illinois
Nov 1, 2009

If you want to feel young again, I would advise visiting the DeSoto House in costume on Halloween. The costumes were phenomenal and it seemed like the people stepped out of the 19th century. The Ghouls and Ghosts from the past seemed to walk the halls as guests and DeSoto staff, in costume, made our stay memorable They had "The Paranormal Institute of Illinois" do a presentation after dinner. The presentation was a little too technical in the beginning, but they made up for it with the recorded documentation of sightings at the DeSoto and other Galena Properties. The hair stood up on the back of my neck. I would recommend a visit to Galena and the DeSoto House Hotel to anyone looking for a getaway that is only hours away from Chicago.

“Haunted Historical Dinner Tour on Halloween Night” DeSoto House Hotel

Five friends and I planned a trip to Galena Illinois for a Haunted Historical Dinner Tour on Halloween evening. We were all amazed at how a wonderful evening came out of it. The parade was phenomenal, however we all agreed that the dinner, tour and presentation by the Paranormal Research of Illinois were extremely fascinating. The atmosphere was breath taking, especially with tour guides dressed for the occasion. The paranormal group did an outstanding job and were very informative. We were glad to hear they will be back next year, as we will not miss it. Thanks to all who put this wonderful evening on for us to enjoy.

All I can say is WOW! We felt as if we had stepped back in time. My friends and I bought tickets for the Dinner Tour at the DeSoto House with the Paranormal Research of Illinois. The dinner was great but the highlight was during desert when the paranormal group talked. I had to sleep with the lights on that night but it was well worth it. Chad of PRI did an outstanding job and was extremely informative. All of us agree that we are returning next year for the 2nd Annual Haunted Dinner Tour. Whoever thought of this idea was a genius.

For this next review I have to add a comment of my own...
Barb is my co-founder, not my wife.  We both have personal family lives separate from each other and PRI, but comments like these show how well we work together.

“Desoto House Hotel in Galena Illinois is a fabulous place to stay on Halloween!” DeSoto House Hotel

My wife and I made reservations for Halloween weekend, 2009 at the DeSoto House Hotel in Galena, IL. We were celebrating our anniversary and have always enjoyed staying at the DeSoto House Hotel for the location and great service. What we were not expecting was a fabulous evening. We attended a Haunted Historical Dinner Tour which we both enjoyed very much. Everything that evening was great, to Deb and her staff, the food, and the tour in costumes. Most of all, the presentation that Paranormal Research of Illinois did during dessert, was pretty amazing. Cheers to Chad and his wife, Barb for putting together a neat way to show the public about the paranormal. I myself thought the night was a little exhausting, but I think that had to do with the evidence the group shared with us, because I couldn't really sleep well. Kudos to all that participated and made this evening possible for us to enjoy!
